The blogging community is amazing at getting together to raise money for charity. This will be the third year running that Team Honk (founded by Tanya- Mummy Barrow, Penny- PS/A Residence  and Annie- Mammasaurus/ Love All Blogs) has got involved with raising money for Comic Relief.I thought I would put together some Red Nose Day Danceathon Movie Inspiration to get you motivated into training.I asked a few bloggers what were their favourite dance inspired movies, many I had forgotten about and I have added them to ‘must view’ list.

If you haven’t heard about Team Honk before here’s a little background about them.In early 2013 Team Honk flew to Ghana, Africa with Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall, to see how the money raised by Comic Relief and Red Nose Day was spent. On their return the blogging community got together to crazy things to raise money, a staggering £10,000 was raised after only a few weeks. The following year, Team Honk organised a blogger to blogger relay spanning the length of Great Britain. It was a bloody marvellous event that raised £31,800.

You can read much, much more on their fab website dedicated to Team Honk.

Red Nose Day Danceathon Movie Inspiration

First off its Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey from 1987.Voted by  Jenny of Mum Of One  and Sarah of Polka Dot Family.

Vanessa of HPMcQ also voted Dirty Dancing and then reeled off, Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta from 1977, Grease starring John Travolta again from 1978, The Full Monty starring Robert Carlyle and Mark Addy from 1997, Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke from 1964

That’s quite a wide variety of dance styles there to get you up and on the dancefloor, don’t you think? The Red Nose Danceathon will be held in Wembley Arena (not stadium) on Sunday March the 8th 2015.You can sign up to grab the some of the 500 places allocated to Team Honk . That’s 3 months to get on your jazz pants, tone up your thighs and get your stamina up to full strength for 6 hours of non-stop dancing.

Are you in? Of course you are, because this is your chance to be part of something amazing!

Just in case you’re not convinced here are a few more suggestions to whet your appetite.Tanya, co-founder of Team Honk said Flash Dance starring Jennifer Beals from 1983 was legendary.

Annie, another Team Honk co-founder Boogie Nights starring Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Heather Graham and Philip Seymour Hoffman.Remember that ending?

Helen from Kiddy Charts also said Grease but went with You Are The One That I Want.

Back in the 80’s Breakdancing was big thing when I was growing up.Donna from Mummy Central went with Breakdance.I may have laughed all the way through this.

Me and Annie had a pervy conversation about David Bowie in his tights for Labyrinth from 1986.Which some how made her think of Pulp Fiction with John ‘I’m in so many dance movies’ Travolta from 1994.

Vicky from A Cupcake Mum  went with Grease and Grease 2, Saturday Night Fever, Annie from 1982, Labyrinth and Little Shop of Horrors from 1986.She also said High School Musical and so did Cass from The Diary of A Frugal Family.  Vicky also suggested  Hairspray with John Travolta, both of these I haven’t seen.

I haven’t seen the new Annie 2014 film yet, but by all accounts it’s meant to be great.I’m looking forward to seeing it myself with my kids.

Well? Has the Red Nose Day Danceathon Movie Inspiration got you revved up and raring to go? Have a looksy over at Team Honk website and sign up to be part of the blogger dance troupe.Tutu’s are optional but we do expect everyone to be dressed up in dance gear, preferably from the 80’s.How many colours of leg warmers do you think we’ll see on the day?
